We'll start by identifying the constellations visible that night with our astronomy laser, while we uncover the stories and mythology behind them.

Then, through our professional telescopes, you'll see planets, nebulae, galaxies, stars, globular clusters, moons and other celestial objects live and in sharp detail. Thanks to astrophotography, you'll also take in details and colours of the universe that the naked eye can't pick up.

Every night is different: what we can see depends on the time of year and the sky conditions. If you'd like to explore much more, choose the 2-hour tour for a fuller stargazing session.

Our experiences always start after sunset, when the sky is dark enough to see the stars really clearly.
At Teide Stars we particularly recommend the second slot at 22:15, as it usually means a clearer, darker sky without a very late night.

The 1-hour experience lets you explore the sky with our guides and see the galaxy and the objects visible that night through our telescope and through astrophotography. But if you really want to make the most of the night, the 2-hour option, for very little more, makes far better use of the journey up there and of the experience itself, with more time to observe at a relaxed pace, take photos without rushing and discover deep sky objects such as planetary nebulae, emission nebulae and supernova remnants in far greater detail, for a fuller, more special night.

We work with high-end professional telescopes and sturdy precision mounts, designed to keep the view steady even in the demanding conditions on Teide. Every set-up is assembled, balanced, calibrated and aligned before the experience to reduce vibration and track the sky's movement accurately.

That makes a real difference: the image stays steady, the object stays centred and we can spend the time observing rather than readjusting the telescope every few moments.

As well as looking through the eyepiece, we use live astrophotography to show the deep sky in another level of detail: nebulae, galaxies and clusters in colour, with structures you can't see with the naked eye.

When you book, let us know which language you'd like the tour in (English or Spanish). As a rule, our tours run in a single language per group.

We usually run the tour at the iconic Mirador de La Ruleta viewpoint, opposite the Roques de García. It's easy to reach, has a car park and offers spectacular views of Teide.

The meeting point may change depending on sky conditions, visibility and the weather forecast. That's why we'll message you beforehand on WhatsApp to confirm the exact location and the start time of the tour.

Add the photo and video pack when you book and we'll put together a short video — under a minute — of your group under the Teide sky, made by a photographer who specialises in astrophotography.

If conditions allow, the Milky Way and the deep sky will take centre stage. If there's a Moon, or its light softens the contrast of the galaxy too much, we'll create the images with that night's real Moon as part of the scene.

Children pay the same as adults, as they receive the same amount of time for telescope observations and answering all their questions. If they're passionate about astronomy, the 2-hour tour is well worth it. Babies under 3 years old are free and can accompany their parents; parking is right next door.
